Vedanta Limited, India’s largest diversified natural resources company valued at USD 10 billion underwent a massive restructuring by way of a demerger of its key businesses into 6 standalone sector-focused entities. Each independent entity will have listed equity, independent management, capital allocation and niche strategies for growth. The restructuring will foster direct investments into the preferred company sector and broaden the investor base for Vedanta assets.
The demerger was a simple vertical split, resulting into 5 newly listed companies:

- Vedanta Power
- Vedanta Steel and Ferrous Materials
- Vedanta Base Metals
The announcement comes at a time when India is seen among the world’s fastest growing economies. The demand for minerals, metals, oil and gas and power is expected to rise significantly as the country continues to build a world-class infrastructure.
Anagram Partners acted as the legal advisors to Vedanta Limited. The team was led by Partners, Shuva Mandal and Arka Banerjee and comprised Sanskriti Singh, Vidhisha Ambade and Ashana Shah.
